GPCBS Members Dominate Local Tournament:
Jonathan Sellers and Tony Lewis won the 1st Annual Fairfield County USBC Doubles Tournament at Nutmeg Bowl. Calvin Sellers won the Singles Event in this same tournament. Congratulations to all of you. GPCBS is very proud of your accomplishments!!!
Greater Park City Bowling Senate Summer Doubles League:
After much deliberation and consideration, the rules and guidelines of the Greater Park City Bowling Senate Summer Doubles League was confirmed and the league will commence on May 27th starting at 7:00 p.m. at Nutmeg Bowl. Teams can consist of any two bowlers. Team max is 390 and the cost is 20$per week. There is a sponsor fee of 20 dollars that must be paid before bowling begins. The summer league will run from May 27th, 2010 and end on August 26th, 2010. If you have any questions, please call league President, Eldorado Anderson at 203-520-8229. We look forward to having you in our league.
Calvin Sellers bowls his 2nd 300 of the season.
On the last night and last game of the Friday Night Inter-church League at Nutmeg Bowl, Calvin Sellers thought it would be a great idea to throw 12 strikes in a row. He accomplished that goal in accurate fashion. He tore the 1-3 pocket up and captured his second 300 of the season. We congratulate Calvin on a job well done!!!
GPCBS Members capture first title of the season.
Tony Lewis and Maurice Thomas, members of the (Rolling Thunder) 3 man mixed league along with Mrs. Amy Teel captured the Fun Time B C Bowling title for the 2009 - 2010 bowling season. With clutch bowling and a dominating 1-2 punch, they overwhelmed the 2nd place team (The Good and Rusty) led by Eldorado Anderson, Riviera Bulerin, and Marcus Jackson, all TNBA members, on the final position round of the season. We would also like to add that the 3rd place team (Stay Focused), consisting of Dyrene Meekins, Jenis Pegues, and Mike Tanner, all TNBA members, did a very good job holding off the 4th place team during the last position round. We congratulate Rolling Thunder and the GPCBS members for a job well done.
GPCBS President Eldorado Anderson bowls his 2nd 300.
Eldorado Anderson shot his 2nd 300 game at Nutmeg Bowl on Saturday, May 1st, 2010. After bowling a 257 in the first game, Eldorado struck 12 times in a row to capture his 2nd ring. He finished with 223 for an overall series of 780. He played with the ever so elusive 800 series, but he fell short once again. We congratulate Eldorado on his performance.
Maurice Thomas throws his 2nd 800 series of the season!!!!
Maurice Thomas shot his 4th 300 game and 2nd 800 series of the season at Rip Van Winkle Lanes in Norwalk, CT. He shot games of 260, 244, and 300 for an 804 series. Click here for the full story.
Johnathan Sellers Continues Hot Streak.
On Wednesday, February 17th during the Fireman's League at Nutmeg Bowl, John Sellers bowled games of 290, 279, and 259 to shoot 828, his first ever 800 series. A week later in that same league, John shot is first ever 300 game. We are proud of John Sellers recent accomplishments and we look forward to more of our GPCBS members scoring high for the duration of the bowling season.

On Sunday, January 24th, 2010, Johnathan Sellers placed 2nd at the Inaugural "Top of the Hill" Handicap Tournament held at Rip Van Winkle Lanes in Norwalk, CT!!! He made it all the way to the finals before losing to the tournament's champion. Out of 24 players, he made it to the finals. We are proud of Johnathan and we congratulate him on his bowling accomplishment.
Jorge Santos shoots 836.
On Monday night, January 11th, 2010, former bowler Fairfield County Bowler of the Year, and GPCBS member Jorge Santos bowled his first 800 of the season. After shooting two consecutive 289 games, Jorge tried to beat his personal and Nutmeg Bowl record 869, but fell a little short, shooting 258 for an 836 series. On behalf of the GPCBS, we would like to congratulate Jorge Santos on a great series!!!!
Tony Lewis shoots 300!!!!!!
On Friday night, January 8th, 2010, the co-director of the Greater Park City Bowling Senate's first Doubles Tournament, Tony Lewis, shot his 8th 300 of his career. While bowling on the Friday Night Inter-Church League, Tony threw the first 12 strikes of the first game to capture his 8th 300. He went on to strike in the first 4 frames of game 2. He struck for 16 consecutive frames. On behalf of the GPCBS, we congratulate member Tony Lewis on his accomplishment.
Maurice Thomas shoots 800!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Nutmeg Bowl in Fairfield, CT, Greater Park City Bowling Senate member Maurice Thomas shot games of 267, 268, and 265 to shoot his first 800 series of his career. During the Fun Time BC Triples League on Saturday night, Maurice only missed the pocket twice. In the tenth frame of his last game, he left a solid 10 pin. He missed the ten pin, but was able to squeeze the 800 series out. Congratulations Maurice Thomas!!!!!!!!
Greater Park City Doubles Tournament
On Saturday, December 5th and Sunday December 6th, The Greater Park City Bowling Senate hosted their first annual Doubles Tournament. Despite the Fairfield County Tournament also being run on that same weekend, we were able to accomodate 134 teams. We sold out every slot on Saturday and we finished strong on Sunday. Congratulations to our first place prize winners, Sean Warren and Naisha Arthur who are 2 of the founding members of the Greater Park City Bowling Senate. Anthony Purefoy shoots 825!!!!!!!!!!!
On Tuesday, November 16, 2009 at Nutmeg Bowl in Fairfield, CT, Greater Park City Bowling Senate member Anthony Purefoy shot games of 236, 300, and 289 for a 825 series. In one of the toughest leagues in Fairfield, County, the Joe Izzo Classic, Anthony was on fire, striking for 26 consecutive frames, beginning in the 9th frame of game 1 and ending in the 11th frame of game 3. We commend Anthony on a job well done. Be on the lookout for more high scores from our GPCBS members!!!!!!!!
The 2010 Battle of the Senates!!!!
On Saturday, October 10th, in Wallingford, CT, 22 teams that represented TNBA Senates from Albany, Boston, Providence, New Haven, Hartford, Springfield, and Bridgeport competed in the "Battle of the Senates" bowling tournament, sponsored by the 40 Boards bowling club out of New Haven, CT. Our own Greater Park City Bowling Senate sent 5 teams to the tournament. The competition was very fierce. Out of three games, the cut-off to make it to the next round was a little over 2200. 3 out of 5 teams made it to the qualifying round. 2 out of the 3 teams left made it to the semi-finals. 1 team made it to the quarter-finals where an aggravating ten-pin miss on a spare cost the team a trip to the championship. However, we would like to congratulate that team which consisted of the following bowlers: Lloyd Price, Nicky Merrola, Cindy Nuzzi, and Daniel Bryant. We would like to applaude them on their effort and for representing the Greater Park City Bowling Senate.
THE BEST OF THE BEST TOURNAMENT!!!
On Sunday, September 27, 2009, 46 of the best bowlers in Fairfield County, CT competed in the "Best of the Best" tournament at Nutmeg Bowl. This was an invitation-only bowling tournament. Those who competed bowled on one of the most difficult oil patterns. The set up was as follows:
